WE MAKE MUSIC FUN!

In July 2004, Co-owners of Northstar Music Center, Bill Melanson and Randy Stevens, opened the doors to their new location in Great Elm Plaza, on Rte 125 in Plaistow, NH. The new location offered more product lines, demo space and expanded lesson rooms/practice studios.  Fast forward to November, 2007, when the energetic business owners took on the shop space next door.  After weeks of demo and remodeleing the "new and improved" Northstar Music opened it's new spaces.  You can now lounge in the acoustic corner, or explore the "Bass-ment", filled with everything a bass-player needs.  The drum section offers a full selection of hardware, heads, accessories, cases and more.

Lifetime music lovers and long-time band mates, they share their philosophy that 'Music isn't something you buy, it's something you do' with every visitor who comes through the doors. This locally owned and operated business offers new and pre-owned instruments and equipment, as well as repair services, pro-audio systems and music lessons, all provided by local professionals and craftsmen.

Bill greeting you at Northstar Counter

Bill Melanson - can play almost any instrument he picks up, but his passion is bass guitar. He enjoys songwriting and jamming with friends. He can be found behind the counter in Northstar Music Center most of the time, willing to answer almost any customer question.

Bill is a veteran of several Seacoast area bands, including Cornerstone, Equinox, Solstice and Rhythm Deep. His musical influences are Pearl Jam, Tool, Victor Wooten and Jimmy Buffet.

Bill's favorite thing about working at Northstar Music Center: "I love helping musicians become better musicians"

Randy responds quickly to customer inquiries

Randy Stevens - a professional sound technician, Randy enjoys playing guitar and listening to live music. Both a performing  musician and a sound engineer, Randy has perspective from either side of the stage. He knows what a musician is looking for from the performer's stage standpoint and from the sound tech's vantage point.

Randy's musical influences include the Beatles and Crosby, Stills & Nash.

Randy's favorite thing about working at Northstar Music Center: "I enjoy meeting people and being able to share my knowledge and experience with our customers. It's just fun!"
